Fuzion Hardbanding Solutions offers mobile hardbanding, hardband removal, tool joint rebuilding and have a unit permanently stationed in Nisku, AB.

A process in which a wear-resistant alloy is applied to the tool joints of drill pipe or drill collars to prolong the life. The Hardband is used where rotational and axial friction associated with drilling and tripping create excessive abrasive wear between drill string and casing or between the drill string and the open hole wall. Hard alloy overlays are applied to the points of greatest contact, typically using advanced welding techniques. Typical alloys used in this process range from ultra-wear resistant tungsten carbide to less abrasive casing friendly alloys. Some hardband processes take a different approach to reducing wear in tubular, using materials that achieve a low coefficient of friction used to protect the drill string from abrasion.
